Company Information
Steelweld Machinery started as part of Cleveland Crane and Engineering (a division of McNeil Corporation), based out of Wickliffe, Ohio in 1940. In the 1980's, Lester Engineering purchased Steelweld.
In 1991, Midstate Manufacturing of Galesburg, Illinois acquired a
Steelweld shear that needed part replacement. At that time, Lester Engineering was unable to fulfill that need and so an offer to purchase Steelweld was made in order to acquire the rights and blueprints necessary to get the shear repaired and to rebuild the business of Steelweld Machinery to support all of the Steelweld customers needs.
Since the acquisition of Steelweld Machinery, Midstate Manufacturing has upgraded the spare parts inventory and service capability, along with offering complete remanufacturing of existing equipment.
